Summary Description:
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Revenue Cycle Specialist will be responsible for all processes related to the lifecycle of a patient's account to allow for efficient and accurate resolution of claims payment. You will be required to navigate the complexities of healthcare billing, insurance claims, and comply with federal and state regulations that support the organization's financial stability and contribute to a seamless patient experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process and submit insurance claims to payers, ensuring accuracy in coding and billing information to minimize denials and delays
  • Review patient accounts for correct insurance information as well as resolve any discrepancies in patient account balances
  • Identify denial trends as well as perform the necessary follow-up including appealing denied claims within a timely manner
  • Engage with patients to explain bills, resolve billing issues, as well as accept payment while maintaining a pleasant attitude to ensure a positive experience for the patient
  • Adhere to compliance policies and regulations related to medical billing as well as maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines that are set in place
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly goals as we have a dynamic environment
Skills and Education:    
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of insurance AR and post-claim follow-up experience 
  • Physician claim billing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of insurance industry
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence
  • Skilled in using computer programs and applications
