Summary Description:
Reporting to our AR Manager, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for hospital compliance and submitting claims.  
Job Responsibilities:  
  • Print and prepare appeal letters and supporting documentation for mailing to payers
  • Ensure timely dispatch of all correspondence related to denied claims and AR follow-ups
  • Access and retrieve medical records from hospital or physician portals as requested by the offshore AR or Appeals team
  • Organize and upload documents for secure and efficient access
  • Contact insurance companies to obtain claim status, resolve outstanding balances, and verify denial reasons
  • Document all call activities and outcomes in the system accurately and in real-time
  • Review and analyze denial codes and payer correspondences
  • Initiate appropriate action such as appeal submission, correction, or rebilling in coordination with the offshore and billing teams
  • Contact patients when necessary for insurance updates, payment follow-ups, or clarification of coverage details
  • Maintain professional communication and protect PHI in all interactions
  • Serve as an onshore support resource to offshore teams by handling tasks that require physical presence or U.S.-based system access
  • Collaborate to ensure process continuity and quick resolution of escalated items
Skills and Education:    
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a medical billing course strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years of office experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Basic math proficiency
