Location: Remote with expected work hours to be a set schedule between 7am - 7pm Central

Daily Responsibilities:
- Partner with software development team as a strategic advisor in the development of a CDI platform
- Key contributor to the development of CDI performance metrics tracking tools
- Review inpatient and/or outpatient medical records to ensure accurate and complete documentation of diagnoses, treatments, and procedures
- Collaborate with client physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to clarify documentation for coding accuracy and specificity
- Identify opportunities for improvement in documentation that impact DRG assignment, severity of illness (SOI), risk of mortality (ROM), quality metrics, and case mix index (CMI)
- Partner with coding teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with coding and regulatory guidelines
- Educate providers on documentation best practices and evolving regulatory requirements
- Track, analyze, and report CDI performance metrics to leadership
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Master's degree in Health Information Management preferred
- CCDS certification
- 2+ years of CDI, clinical, or coding experience in an acute care setting
- Experience with Epic systems preferred
- High knowledge and experience with various CDI software tools
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG methodology, and coding compliance standards
- Knowledge of CMS, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory standards impacting documentation and reimbursement preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
- CDI Solution owner or contributor to CDI software development preferred
- CDI Program development preferred
